Here is what’s going on Down Range at North Lawrence Fish and Game
Week ending Sunday October 13th 2024
Membership meeting
Thursday, October 10th, 7pm.
Our non-registered 50 bird target shoot has been a big success. It will continue on Monday evenings. All shooters are welcome. See details on the website: NLFG.ORG
The Trap Range will be open Tuesday evenings at 5pm for practice shooting. Due to rising target costs, prices this season will be $7.00 for members and $7.50 for non-members. You must have your membership card to receive the discount.
The club office will be closed on Sundays for the foreseeable future.
Our next Steel Challenge shoot will be Sunday, October 20th. Details are on the website. Go to the black header at the top of the page, click on USPSA and Steel Challenge for the full schedule.
Euchre every Friday evening at 7 pm. Plenty of room for more tables and players. Call Joe for details at 330-353-0337.
Our fall new membership deal is still on and has been a huge success! At the September Membership meeting, we brought in 5 new members. This amounted to a $2,400.00 gain in our general fund. There is still time to sign up. Thanks to all the members who promote this deal.
New Memberships
If you know of someone who is interested in joining our club and likes a deal, now is the time to act. We are again having our fall membership special. Join now and receive a full 2025 membership plus the balance of this year included. Tell your friends about this great opportunity.
The Club will once again have a table at the Stark Gun Collectors Gun Show on October 4th and 5th. We could use some fresh faces to talk to people about the Club and what we have to offer. We will also be selling raffle tickets for an M1 Garand rifle.
We recently received this letter detailing Ladies Night at the Range:
I wanted to send you a short note so you could share with the others at the board meeting. Thanks for the opportunity to coordinate a ladies night at the range. It was very successful. On any of the five nights, there were between six and ten ladies excited to shoot. We had ladies of all skill levels, who learned how to become more independent and more accurate with their firearms.
We had two ladies who started week 1 using their husband’s guns and by week 3, purchased a new gun more suited to themselves.
We started every week by reviewing the four rules of gun safety.
Everyone who participated is interested in doing it again next summer, if possible. The most popular choice would be every other week during the months of June, July, and August.
Keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Sue Heckel
Thanks to Sue and all the ladies who participated. We hope to see you all next year.
Wanted: M1 Garand or Carbine
The club is looking to purchase rifles for our gun raffles. If you have one of these rifles in good operating condition and would be willing to let it go for a reasonable price, please give us a call at 330-832-2411. The Club made good money on the raffles last time around.
We were recently informed of the passing of Member Gary Wilson. Gary passed on August 12th. He was 80 years old. Also, Member David Ganyard passed away on September 26th. David was 56 years old. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of their family and friends.
Once again, remember one stray round leaving our ranges could be the end of our Club. Please use good common sense and shoot safely.
