The Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes: small circular, large circular and square targets. Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. Each match will consist of 3 to 4 stages and will be sanctioned by SCSA. In each stage, the competitors will engage each of the 5 steel targets in 5 strings for a total of 25 shots. The slowest string is thrown out giving you a total time for each stage. The stages are then added together for a total time.
